Refinished stairway

This stairway was blond and the homeowners wanted a darker color. We sanded the previous dish and stain off and put dark walnut stain on the woodwork. We used an oil base finish for the sealant.

They also wanted the wood accents in the living room done along with the mantle.

Floating Shelves

A customer asked for 4 floating shelves that are stained a rich walnut color. We said, “Yes sir, we can do that for you.”

Here Warren is cutting the boards at an angle.

The boards were put together, stained, and finished.

The shelves installed.

Updating a Staircase

We were able to build and install a new balustrade for this customer.  She had a valute newel post on an extended stair step.  She wanted that step to be cut in line with the others steps.

With the cutting of the bottom step, we then installed new floor boards to blend in with the existing floor.

Wooden Beams

The same folk that needed their staircase rebuilt, also wanted the fake beams replaced be oak beams stained and finished to match the floors we did for them.

Rebuilding A Staircase

This particular house had a Staircase that was in the way of the front entrance. We were able to take out the first step and landing and put in winders to accommodate the space better. We then installed new floor boards and a tall newel post and handrails.

Updating The Living room Floor

A job we did this week was to refinish a living room floor that originally had carpet when this homeowner purchased the house. He was planning on replacing the carpet and discovered hardwood floor underneath. He then called us to refinish it.
At the front door there was sheet vinyl with under layment stapled down. The staples were quite stubborn to pull out, which more than half of them snapped right off. We had to use vise-grips and end nippers to either pull them out or nip them.  We were amazed how many staples were there just at the front door.
We then sanded the floor which was a dark amber and then stained it to a rich dark walnut color.

Replacing a Bottom Round Step

We got the majority of one of the Balustrade jobs completed. We cut away the base round step and installed a new bottom step along with new floor boards since the previous step did not have floor boards underneath it. We stained and finished the new floor boards and installed the newly built box newel posts, rail and metal balusters.
