Making a Custom King Size Headboard

This past week we were able to make a king size head board. We made it out of old barn wood.

I used the router to cut out where the ballusters go in the railing.

All put together now. That’s pretty big. ?

Stain and Finish Handrail

We stained and finished all the handrails in this lovely house, which includes the front foyer, balcony, back stairway, basement, and attic.

Custom Storm Door

We were asked to make a custom made storm door. The homeowner ordered the glass to fit it perfectly. In the summer the glass can be removed and screen put in place of it.

Putting the trim work on to hold in the glass.

That sure is a big storm door! They must be expecting a big storm coming! ?

Making Dowel Rods

We made custom made dowel rods to make pegs for Rehmeyer’s Hardwood Flooring using the table saw. We made over 1,600 of them!

We just got done repairing and refinish an antique hall tree that was dated 1907. It came to us very dark, almost black with some veneer missing and a carved foot missing. Warren carved a new foot and put new veneer where it was missing.

New Wainscoting

Did you inherit someone else’s taste in decorating when you moved into your new house?

This room was painted a dark purple. The homeowner painted over it this nice blue color. We were to cover the wall paper with wainscoting painted white.

Refinishing a Handrail

This handrail was sanded down by the homeowner, but could not be completed. We were called to finish sanding it and stain and finish it to match the floors.

There was still some old stain and finish left on the posts and rails.

Here you can see where the handrail was sanded cleaner. The black grunge was sanded out.

Refinish Mohogany Doors

A set of mohogany doors came to us quite weathered.

We stripped the old finish and stain off and then sanded it down to raw wood. We then stained it a deep red mohogany stain.

After that, we applied one coat of spar varnish on them.

We are now working on getting two more coats of finish on them.

Grandma’s Dressers

A couple asked us to refinish a couple of dressers that the lady had inherited from her grandma. The dresser was made with solid wood with mahogany, and birds eye maple veneer.

It had a to have a few pieces of veneer replaced and had lot of water marks on the tops.

We stripped the old finish off and sanded it, then we applied new finish on them.

The maple was stained a bit but when we stripped the old finish we left it with the natural color. The couple is going to use these dressers for their newborn.

Custom Quad Bunk Beds

A couple asked us to build a quad bunk bed for their 4 daughters. The mother came up with a few quad bunks that she saw on the internet. We used them as a guide and designed our own set.

The mother wanted a solid panel instead of a rail guard, the father asked to have shelves to hang off the sides of the guards.

Needless to say the girls were estatic about their new beds.
