Here is a balcony we updated. We tore out the old carpet and pulled out the old handrail. We built the new balcony nosing from red oak lumber. We used the curved handrail as our guide.
We got the balcony nosing to fit nicely over the floor construction wood and put up baseboard to give a sharp, crisp finish.
We then installed red oak hardwood, finished it with Bona water-based finish.
The newel posts were custom made and we used plain metal balusters to complete the upgrade.
